(Register for the virtual conference via Zoom here)
March 24, 25 and 28, 2022
OVERVIEW
This conference seeks to integrate the literatures on migration and urbanization by examining, in a systematic manner, how migrant flows have affected the economic, physical, social, and cultural development of cities both historically and at present. For this purpose, we have selected nine major cities as 'strategic field sites' where such interactions can be studied in detail. Three of these cities are in North America, three in Europe, and three in Latin America.
Scholars well versed in the interplay of urban and migration dynamics of the cities included will be presenting essays and providing detailed comments, followed by open discussions. The writers of essays have been working in coordination with the organizers since August 2021 and the progress of their research will be discussed during the conference.
The conference will take place in the online modality. It will be free and open to the public and early registration is encouraged. To register please click on the link at the end of the program.
