Tirando os livros para fazer dinheiro, um legítimo objetivo americano, mas que não faz parte de minhas preocupações de vida, já li e recomendo os livros de Jared Diamond, Arms, Germs and Steel, e o de David Landes, The Wealthy and Poverty of Nations (ainda que o capítulo sobre a AL seja fraco e o sobre o Brasil seja totalmente decepcionante pela mania americana da “teoria da dependência”, a única coisa da sociologia de FHC que acho fraquérrima. Mas preciso ler os livros sobre Andrew Carnegie, de Herbert Simon e o Selfish Gene, de Charles Dawkins (cujo argumento conheço e parte, por resenhas e comentários lidos na New York Review of Books). A best-selling exploration of why some nations achieve economic success while others don’t. As you can imagine, it’s complicated.
9. Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In
The book is one of the primary business texts in North America.
So it shouldn’t surprise you that I was first introduced to this as part of my MBA program– Says Munger.
10. Three Scientists and Their Gods: Looking for Meaning in an Age of Information
What is the meaning of life? This book looks at the work and beliefs of three leading American scientists: Edward Fredkin, Edward O. Wilson, and Kenneth Boulding.
11. The Warren Buffett Portfolio: Mastering the Power of the Focus Investment Strategy
This book has been recommended by both Buffett and Munger on a few occasions.
