Uma justa homenagem a um dos maiores historiadores brasilianistas, cujos livros e artigos sempre apreciei, e que se distingue na tribo dos brasilianistas por ter sido uma "máquina de pesquisa arquivística" – como chamado por várias "fontes orais" – e também pelo fato de, característica quase única entre essa grande tribo, ter escrito vários dos seus livros diretamente em português.
